SAN FRANCISCO’S GREENEST BLUEGRASS

Greenstone Quarry was born in the San Francisco neighborhood of Bernal Heights, where they would gather on Wednesday nights to play the music they loved. Michael Willingham, Grace C.K., Mike Henry, Matthew “Woody” Lauer, and Paul Lloyd, all seasoned musicians in their own right, shared a love of bluegrass music and the “festival” spirit of togetherness. From those first living room jams came a uniquely Bay Area melange of bluegrass, blues, roots, rock and reggae. Longtime residencies at the legendary Giordano Bros. in North Beach and The Sycamore in The Mission District further honed GSQ’s sound and forged a lifetime of shared memories.

Today, Greenstone Quarry continues to play in the spirit of joy and friendship on which it was founded. We hope to see you soon!
